Luna was special, just as they all are, but she had a joy that she carried with her throughout her life.
In the rings she was a riot. Her heeling was next to none, she was so tight to Rhona it really was as if they were joined at the knee, and the wagging of her tail was so effusive she almost knocked Rhona off stride many times.
In the conformation ring she went to work. She'd stack like a statue and when I gave her the cue to move her little head went up in the air and off she went.
Classic, old-styled structure and appearance meant that when she was put up she blew everyone away. It was in the whelping box where she really shone.
She raised two fabulous litters of her own and, if she had her druthers, she would have raised her daughter's litter too though she had to settle for simply being a very involved grandma.
She loved the babies. Both of her litters have excelled in many venues, all of them inherited her joy and zest for life.
Luna left us much too soon and much too quickly. The hole that she has left at Albanor is wide and deep.
We see her in the faces of her treasured babies and that brings tears, tears of loss but also tears of pleasure for having had the honour and opportunity to spend a part of our lives with such a joyful soul.
Luna, missed by all of us forever, will be on the top step of that stairway to heaven waving, smiling and rooo-rooing with all her heart.

Wow! This has been a great year! And recently it was made even better
with our "vocal" girl Luna achieving her CDX title! Luna is now Ch.
Albanor's Lunar Eclipse CDX and although she has had minimal training
Luna managed to get her final CDX leg at the Valley Kennel Club shows in
Lombardy. Luna likes to "talk" while she works but when she is ON she is
really ON! I guess she wasn't going to let her kids outshine her this
year! It was just in time too as she will be coming into heat soon and
most likely have to take some maternity time off again! Way to go Rhona
and wee Luna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so proud of you! |
